Saving the Environment One Shopping Bag at a Time.

Posting again!? So soon? What is going on!?!?

Well, I was just reading one of the blogs that I frequent and discovered that the woman has begun to make her own reusable produce bags. She has taken mesh and sewed it into a bag that can be used to replace the plastic bags that we get at the stores. What a brillant idea!

When we were in Korea we purchased some reusable shopping bags from Muji, a Japanese store. We absoutely LOVE LOVE LOVE them (we’ll likely have a stop over in Seoul on our way to Bali in June and are considering stopping by to pick up a few more…)! When we do our shopping here we always make sure that we have the Muji bags, but we still end up with tons of plastic garbage due to the small, clear bags that the produce comes in. Could you imagine how much we could eliminate if we used mesh bags instead? It’s absoutely brillant. Now I just have to wait until I get home to my sewing machine and a fabric shop to create some of my own!
